The Video

As it says in Psalm 32:5 I acknowledge my sin and confess my transgression.

Recently I was sent a video entitled "Never let a Crackhead sing at your Funeral".
Unfortunately I, like the others who had viewed it before me laughed at the spectacle that the young man made of himself trying to sing 'Amazing Grace'. I was ashamed and embarrassed for him.
The Lord corrected me.
I did not know this young man, what he had been through, where he had come from. I did not know if this was even a funeral (you couldn't tell this looking at the video). I don't know the person who first put this clip out there for others to see or why.
Who was I to laugh? Does it not say in the Word '...in the congregation I will praise the Lord'. Was this not what this young man was doing?
Why was I ashamed and embarrassed for him for knowing only one verse and how he sang? Does not my Word say, 'Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise' and 'I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.'
So what, that he did not know the whole song. He knew the part that meant the most to him. 'Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now am found'.
Could I claim to know the words to ever song I sang when I offered up Praise. No.
If this young man was a crackhead did he not earn the right to sing 'God's praise'.

I Thank the Lord for His correction. I ask for His forgiveness. My hope is in the Lord, for with the Lord there is mercy.
'For His anger endureth but a moment, in His favor is life...' Psalm 30:5
